Hello!

I'm from Sweden so I think it's easier for everyone if I write in English. :)

I'm looking for a movie that I think is Danish. This will be difficult since I remember so little about it, sorry.

I saw this movie with my school class at a Swedish cinema when I was very young so I think the movie was made around mid or late 80s. 1986-1987 would be my best guess. It involves a boy and a girl who travels in time. The only thing I remember is that the boy ends up in a different time (or maybe a different world) and he doesn't know where the girl is. He starts looking for her. The environment is a barren place with lots of rock and sand as I remember it. He climbs some stairs and meets a man. The man puts a finger across his lips and says "shhh". He does this because they are standing close to a huge funnel, kind of like a trumpet. But the boy does not keep quiet, he says "Har du set en pige?" (Have you seen a girl?) and his voice echoes out over the lands, amplified by the trumpet.

This is all I remember. My mind keeps reminding me of this scene as something that I didn't fully process as a child and that's why I'm trying to find out what the movie is called so I can watch it again as an adult. Does anyone have an idea of what this movie might be?

I remember hearing or reading something about the director being disappointed because the movie's release date collided with the release of another time travel movie called "Back to the future", which was released 1985 according to IMDB. The director wanted to avoid the competition of the time travel theme, but I'm not sure this was the same movie as the one I'm looking for.

That's all I can say. Again, sorry for the lack of info. I'm happy to watch all Danish time travel movies for kids to find the one I'm looking for :) so feel free to make wild guesses! It's possible that the movie is Norwegian, maybe the boy in the movie said "Har du sett en pike?" instead of "pige".

I'm grateful for all help!

/Henrik

Hi Henrik,
Welcome to DAHF! :)

I'm pretty sure that I've never seen the film in question, but my best guess is Miraklet I Valby, from 1989:
Citat:

I think it did semi-okay, 54,000 tickets, but maybe Åke Sandgren (incedentally, a Swede!) expected more?

Do keep us posted. The no. of local time travel movies is quite small, so if it's *not* this one, I'm curious as to what else is out there :)
