Så er Oscarnatten næsten overstået. Nattens festforløb har budt på adskillige overraskende indslag. I år må man ihvertfald konstatere at det blev "Black Night" som vandt over dem alle. Æresoscar til Sidney Poitier, Oscar til både Halle Berry (meget tårevædet) samt Denzel Washington for deres præstationer. Ydermere kunne konstateres at "A Beautiful Mind" slog "Lord Of The Rings" i kampen om flere af de allervigtigste priser (bla. bedste film og instruktør.) Men mon ikke Peter Jackson vender stærkt tilbage...

Sikke en nat. Jeg blev overrasket mange gange i løbet af aftenen.

Især med bedste udenlandske film blev jeg overrasket. Jeg ville have satset alle mine sparepenge på at Amelié vandt

Også med hensyn til bedste adapted screenplay havde jeg også rengnet stærkt med at LOTR havde vundet.

Jeg var ikke særlig begejstret over at denzel vandt i stedet for Russel, da jeg har fået det indtryk at Russel lavede en bedre skuespillerpæstation i ABM end i Gladiator som jeg ikke synes han skulle have vundet nogen oscar for. Denzel har også lavet bedre præstationer end i the training day. Men sådan blev udfaldet jo.

Lidt træt af at Memento ikke hev nogen priser hjem, da den jo er genial.

Moulin Rouge vandt fortjent to priser. Havde fortjent mange flere. Kan slet ikke forstå at Baz Luhrmann ikke var nomineret som bedste instruktør. Sikke et mesterværk med hensyn til filmlavning.

Men ellers et flot show. Kunne dog godt have været foruden Whoopie Goldberg. Jeg vil have Billy Crystal tilbage.
